We made it safely to the in-laws on the Eve of New Year's Eve. A low key farewell dinner and we were ready for our nightcap and an early flight to Singapore the next day. Or so we thought ......

Saying Goodbye to Hoboken
After days of packing and hours of cleaning, we are finally done. We have shoved the last of our belongings into our car and we are ready to bid Hoboken farewell. Not before another breakfast at La Isla. We have only lived in Hoboken for 2 months, but it truly is home to many great restaurants. We picked La Isla for our farewell breakfast as we know Mexican/Cuban food is much harder to come by in Asia, which we will be for at least 3 months!

Our Week Before Christmas - Running with Life
In face of our impending RTW trip, we decided to not to do Christmas at home this year. This meant no Christmas trees, no lights and no presents. We did some minimal shopping for DBB's family and that was it! If only Christmas could be this easy every year!
So, a few days ago, DBB was offered a 3 month contract job in Singapore. Accepting this job would mean that we toss out our well laid out plans for our 2012 RTW trip (at least temporarily), figure out our plans for the new year from the start... and it would also mean living with my parents for 3 months in Singapore.

My Favorite Sushi Place - Sagami
In anticipation that for at least the next 12 months or so, we will not be within easy reach of our favorite restaurants in the tri-state area, we decided to visit our favorite sushi place -- Sagami restaurant in South Jersey. The fish is fresh, prices are reasonable, decor is authentic and service is impeccable!
We arrived at Sagami a little before noon and there were 4-5 cars waiting in the parking lot for the restaurant to open for lunch! If you having dinner at Sagami on a weekend, make sure to call ahead to reserve a table.
For us, Sagami is a sushi destination, but if you find yourself looking for someplace good to eat between Philadelphia and Atlantic City AND you love sushi... this is a great place to check out. Yum Yum.....

Yumminess in NYC - Yakitori Totto
Yakitoro Totto's claim to fame is its grilled chicken skewers. The chicken liver skewers are our favorite! But at $2-$3 a skewer, the bill adds up. So, we prefer to go to Yakitori Totto for lunch, when prices are more affordable, crowds are smaller and the wait staff also more attentive. Looks like they are now open in Bangkok as well...maybe we'll stop by there on our way to volunteering at Isara Foundation in Nong Khai!
